Hi,
Welcome to my toolbox. Within this site
you will find a range of links to the
various web development tools that I
have found to be useful. It is far
from a complete list and its always worth
searching for more.
Where there are links
to what appear to be private sites,
the link will go to the home page, so
keep looking for the referenced tool,
its their tool not mine!
Also there is my homily on web management.
Associated with Web Site Design and Search
Engine Optimisation (SEO) but looking
at the way these can be use to make the
web work.
Please note that if you have sumbled
on this site, it is still a work in progress
so please bear with the missing links!
Web
Management is fundamentally about
combining all the facets of web presence
in the optimum way.
It requires levels of expertise in:
| |
Understanding the way the search
engines locate, view and place web
sites and pages. |
| |
The structure and design of web
pages and web sites. |
| |
The use of web site statistics,
and other means of gethering intelligence
about the web. What these packages
offer and how to use them intelligently. |
| |
An appreciation of what the business
requires from a web site. |
| |
What works on the web and what doesn't. |
| |
Project Management |
| |
Business Communications and Marketing |
Realistically, it doesn't necessarily
include the design in terms of look and
feel of web sites, -

What does the search engine
spider or robot see?
Try this tool: www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/sim_spider.cgi
obviously this is a generic idea of what
a spider will see and record for your
web page - see the Google cache also for
your web page.
